Sealey has a huge range of products to meet all kinds of industrial and manufacturing needs in business situations. As such you can expect a wide range of tools and other items – including loft ladders.
But is a Sealey loft ladder worth buying? Is this name worth looking for when you are searching for your ideal ladder? Let’s see what they have to offer.
What types of loft ladders does their range include?
When we took a look at their website they had just one loft ladder in the range. Further investigation via Google and other search engines seemed to indicate that there was just one ladder available in general there as well.
A Selection of the Best Selling Sealey Loft Ladders
This ladder is aluminium in nature and has three sections. This makes it more versatile which is probably why they have gone for this design instead of a simple two section ladder.
It also has a handrail attached to the left hand side, so if you are looking for this type of ladder then the Sealey range – as small as it is – will probably suit you!
Why should you think about choosing a Sealey loft ladder?
Some people are looking for a basic but strong three section loft ladder that they can rely on. If you fall into this group then the Sealey loft ladder will certainly appeal to you.
Obviously if you are looking for a wooden one you will need to go elsewhere, but remember that this is an industrial site that has plenty of professional and reliable products to buy. As such if you find a stockist for this item you might want to buy it to make good use of your loft.
What should you expect from their website?
The first thing you should expect is to have a tough time trying to find the loft ladders! They are actually in the ‘environmental and janitorial’ section, which might seem a strange place to put them but that’s where they are.
On the home page of the website – resplendent in shades of blue and red – you will find a list of all the departments they have on the right hand side. ‘Environmental and janitorial’ is about halfway down, so click on that and you will find pages and pages of items included in this section. You will have to scroll through all these to find the loft ladders.
Alternatively you can use their search facility, but you need to be a bit careful with this as you can easily turn up nothing – just as we did! As you will see, the search facility enables you to do a product search and a full text search. You need to type ‘loft ladder’ into the full text search and not the product search. This will reveal all the ladders they sell.
Once you find one suitable for loft access, you will see that it gives you the model number followed by the prices excluding and including VAT. This is perfect if you are buying for business purposes and you are registered for VAT yourself.
There is a link which invites you to ‘buy now’ from another dealer online. This opens up another web page and searches for the item in Google. You can then search for this ladder to buy from another dealer. You cannot buy direct from Sealey.
If you click on the product number though, you will be taken into another page. There is a better image of the ladder here, and you can make it bigger still by clicking the link they provide and opening up a much better picture in a separate window. This enables you to see all the parts of the ladder and how it is put together.
Along with a repeat of the prices you can read a paragraph which tells you more about the ladder. If you then go to the bottom of the page you will see a small section labelled ‘specifications’. This should enable you to figure out whether the ladder is of the right dimensions for you to use it safely and easily in the situation you want it for.
In conclusion
The Sealey name may not be attached to a huge array of loft ladders. But it is clear that the one it is attached to is a good entry into the market.
As such this might just be the only one you need. It just goes to show that it isn’t the range of loft ladders a company makes that matters – it is whether they have the exact one you want.
